AssertHired (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website at www.asserthired.com and the AssertHired platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you use AssertHired, including interview sessions started, categories selected, difficulty levels chosen, and feedback scores received. This helps us improve the product and provide you with analytics on your progress.
Interview Content
Your answers during mock interviews are processed by our AI system to generate feedback and scores. We store interview transcripts and AI-generated feedback associated with your account so you can review your history and track progress.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, bank account details, or other sensitive payment information on our servers. Stripe may collect information as described in their own privacy policy.
Automatically Collected Data
We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to collect anonymous, aggregated performance data such as page load times and general usage patterns. These tools do not use cookies and do not track individual users across sites.

- To improve and optimize our platform

4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the following legal bases as defined by applicable data protection law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Contract performance — Processing necessary to provide the AssertHired service you signed up for, including generating AI interview feedback, managing your account, and processing payments.
- Legitimate interests — Processing necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as improving the platform, preventing fraud, and ensuring security, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation — Processing necessary to comply with applicable laws, such as tax and financial reporting requirements.
- Consent — Where you have given explicit consent, such as agreeing to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy at signup. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following third-party services (sub-processors) that are necessary to operate AssertHired:
- Supabase — Authentication and database hosting (Privacy Policy)
- Stripe — Payment processing (Privacy Policy)
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered interview and feedback generation (Privacy Policy)
- Vercel — Hosting and anonymous analytics (Privacy Policy)
- Resend — Transactional email delivery (Privacy Policy)
- Upstash — Rate limiting (Privacy Policy)
Each provider processes data according to their own privacy policies and is bound by their respective data processing agreements.
6. AI and Your Data
AssertHired uses Anthropic’s Claude API to generate interview questions, evaluate your answers, and provide feedback. Your interview data is sent to the Claude API solely for the purpose of generating real-time responses during your session.
Anthropic does not use data submitted through their API to train or improve their AI models. Your interview content is processed and discarded by their systems after generating a response. For details, see Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data and interview history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days of your request, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g., tax or billing records). Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 90 days.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Authentication handled through Supabase with industry-standard security practices
- Row-level security on all database tables ensuring users can only access their own data
- Rate limiting to prevent abuse
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — Request deletion of your account and associated data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Data portability — Export your interview history and account data in a machine-readable format
- Restriction — Request that we limit how we process your data
- Objection — Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time
You can delete your account and export your data directly from your Account Settings page. For other requests, contact us at the email listed below. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
10. International Data Transfers
AssertHired is based in the United States. If you access our service from outside the United States, including from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, and relying on our sub-processors’ own compliance with applicable data transfer frameworks.
11. For European Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the GDPR and equivalent local laws:
- The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully
- The right to not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects

Note: AssertHired uses AI to generate interview feedback scores. These scores are for educational practice purposes only and do not produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on you.
12. For California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know — You may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, our business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to Delete — You may request deletion of your personal information. You can do this directly from your Account Settings page, or by contacting us.
- Right to Correct — You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing — AssertHired does not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell your data to third parties, nor do we share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.
Categories of personal information collected: Identifiers (name, email), commercial information (subscription history), internet activity (usage data), and professional information (interview responses). See Section 2 for full details.

13. Cookies
AssertHired uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or analytics cookies that identify individual users. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, no cookie consent is required under the ePrivacy Directive.
14. Children’s Privacy
AssertHired is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect, in addition to posting the updated policy on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
