Is a QA Engineer higher than a QA Analyst?
Not by definition. In many companies QA Engineer implies more technical depth and higher pay, and at product companies it is the only QA title. In others, especially banking, insurance and consultancies, QA Analyst is the standard title for experienced testers. Level words such as senior or lead say more than engineer or analyst.
Why do Indian and Philippine job postings use QA Analyst so often?
Title conventions differ by market and by the consultancies that dominate hiring there. Many roles titled QA Analyst in those markets involve the same automation work a US posting would call QA Engineer. Read the responsibilities and the tools listed rather than the title.
Can I apply for QA Engineer roles with a QA Analyst title?
