Accenture QA Interview Questions

Accenture hires testers and automation engineers to work on client projects across many industries and countries. That shapes the interview. Testing knowledge matters, but so does how you would work inside a client team: following a delivery process, writing clear defect reports, and explaining quality to people who are not testers. Below is how the process typically runs and what to prepare.

What is the Accenture QA interview process?

The process varies by country, level and the client account you are hiring into. For campus and early-career hiring it typically starts with an online assessment of aptitude and reasoning, and for some roles coding or communication. Experienced hires usually start with a recruiter or HR screen instead. Then come one or more technical interviews on testing fundamentals and your automation stack, and a final HR discussion. Some roles add a round with a project or delivery lead.

01

Online Assessment (campus and early career)

Aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal ability, sometimes with a coding or communication section. Experienced candidates often go straight to the screen.

02

Recruiter or HR Screen

Your background, the projects you have tested, your notice period, and whether you can work the location and shift the project needs.

03

Technical Interview

Manual testing fundamentals first: test case design, the defect lifecycle and STLC. Then your automation stack, such as Selenium with Java or Playwright, API testing with Postman or REST Assured, and basic SQL.

04

Project or Delivery Lead Round

Common for experienced roles. How you work in Agile teams, handle changing requirements, estimate testing effort and report status to a client.

05

HR Round

Expectations, joining date, relocation and a general check on communication.

What does Accenture look for in QA candidates?

Key areas Accenture interviewers evaluate in QA and SDET candidates.

Manual testing fundamentals: test scenarios, test cases, boundary values and equivalence partitioning

SDLC, STLC and the defect lifecycle, including severity versus priority

One automation stack in depth: Selenium with Java, or Playwright

API testing with Postman or REST Assured: status codes, request bodies and assertions

SQL basics for checking data behind the UI: joins, filters and aggregates

Agile ceremonies and clear communication with client stakeholders

What questions does Accenture ask QA engineers?

Questions based on real Accenture QA interview patterns. Practice answering these with AssertHired’s AI interviewer.

  1. 01

Walk me through the defect lifecycle. Who changes the status at each stage on your current project?

  2. 02

What is the difference between severity and priority? Give an example of a high severity, low priority defect.

  3. 03

Write test scenarios for a login page, including negative cases.

  4. 04

How do you handle a dynamic element in Selenium that changes its ID on every page load?

  5. 05

How would you test a REST API that creates a customer record? What would you assert?

  6. 06

Write a SQL query to find the second highest salary in an employee table.

  7. 07

The client wants to release tomorrow and you still have open defects. What do you tell them?

How do you prepare for a Accenture QA interview?

Know your current project well. Interviewers often ask how testing actually works there, from requirements to sign-off, so be ready to describe it step by step.

Pick one automation stack and go deep. Being able to explain your framework structure, how tests run in CI and how you report results beats listing many tools.

Practice explaining a defect or a release risk in plain language. On a client project you will do this every week.

Revise SQL and basic programming. Even manual testing roles often include a short SQL or logic question.

Common questions about Accenture QA interviews

Does Accenture hire freshers for testing roles?

Yes. Freshers usually join through campus or early-career hiring, which typically starts with an online assessment before the interviews. The role you are assigned to, testing or otherwise, can depend on the projects that need people when you join.

Which automation tools should I prepare for an Accenture QA interview?

Prepare the stack on the job description first. Selenium with Java is very common on services projects, and Playwright, Postman and REST Assured come up often. Depth in one stack, plus clear testing fundamentals, is a better use of your time than a shallow pass over many tools.

Is the Accenture testing interview more manual or automation focused?

It depends on the role. Most technical rounds start with manual testing fundamentals such as test design, STLC and the defect lifecycle, then move to automation for automation roles. Expect both unless the job description is clearly one or the other.

How should I prepare for the client communication questions?

Prepare short, honest stories: a time you raised a risk before a release, a time requirements changed late, and a time you worked with a team in another time zone. Say what you did and what happened as a result.
